Ward J. LaVean, age 93, went to be with his Lord Saturday, July 1, 2017.
He was born May 25, 1924 in Saranac, Michigan the son of Gilbert and Margaret (Grieves) LaVean.
Ward proudly answered the call of his country and served during World War II in the Army Corps of Engineers. He also enjoyed time spent outdoors hunting and fishing.
Ward is survived by his wife of almost 70 years Helen LaVean; his son, Greg (Linda) LaVean, daughter, Shelley (Michael) Zalewski and his grandchildren Julia and Matthew and sister-in-law, Eleanore LaVean.
Ward was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters-in-law Marion (Lucy), Wesley (Virginia), Arl (Thelma) and Garth LaVean.
In accordance to Ward’s wishes, a private family interment will take place in Balcom Cemetery at a later date.
