He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dawn Gamble; his daughter Gloria Wynalda; his son and daughter-in-law Bruce Mary Athearn; his grandchildren, Daniel Katie Wynalda, Deborah Glenn Dik, Dennis Julie Wynalda, Michelle Troy Isenhoff, Michael Kathy Athearn, Kate Andrew Borrink, Jonathan Amanda Athearn of Wheaton, IL; and 12 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 7th at the Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St SW in Byron Center.

A time for visiting will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, just prior to the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks for the excellent care given to Wayne by Hospice of Holland Home and Byron Center Manor Meadow Place.
