Wendel Allen Merica Sr., age 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Arlen (Potter) Merica. He is survived by his son, Wendel (Lonnai) Merica Jr.; daughter, Cynthia (Daniel) Kornoelje; granddaughter, Wendy (Matt) Wood; grandson, Cory Merica (Crystal Denney); five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Wendel proudly served his country in the United States Army. He belonged to Rivertown Assembly of God, where, over the years, he spent much time as a Royal Rangers leader. His hobby and passion was his music.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Rivertown Assembly of God, 3260 52nd St. SW., Wyoming, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to service.
