

Beloved son of Darla Alexander and Vyana M. Slattery, William was born in Dearborn, Michigan and lived in Grand Rapids, Tucson, Chicago and Los Angeles.
He is survived by his parents, his precious sister Megan St Vincent Slattery, and half-sisters Devin DuMond and Caitlin Garlick, grandmother Helen I. Alexander, stepmom Sarah Slattery, and dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins. His stepdad Thomas J. Sigismondi preceded him in death.
William graduated from Libertyville High School where he won the National Mathematics Award, and attended Grand Valley State University.
William was a gifted photographer and painter. He was a lover of the natural world, music and sunsets. William was a man who was not capable of hurting anyone or anything. A lifelong vegetarian, he lived his beliefs.
The family wishes to thank the many health professionals, agencies and caregivers who helped him live productively and with dignity in his final months. You know who you are.
Private cremation services have been held. A memorial service and posthumous artist's reception will be held at Fountain Street Church Thursday, September 13 at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Fred Wooden, Senior Minister officiating.
