Jefferson Davis Prosise (Jeff) passed away May 8, 2020 at home. Jeff was born September 9, 1926 in Millersview, Texas. He served his country in World War II in the Army in Japan. He married Sybil Mullins and took training in a Church of Christ Ministerial School in Kerrville, Texas. They moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1950 to become a minister of a Church of Christ and continued until his death.
Jeff was a very devoted man of God and a man of strong convictions. He spent 33 years in the local Search and Rescue group and was also Chaplain for the Sheriff’s department delivering death notices.
He married Joan Mayhugh in 2002. He owned Caveman Upholstery, Caveman RV and Caveman Metals. A man of multiple talents who never slowed down.
Jeff is survived by his sister Shirley McIntosh of Texas, wife Joan Prosise, sons Glen Prosise of Medford and Daniel Prosise of Grants Pass, daughters Janice Feagan of Applegate and Christy Hager of Grants Pass, Billy Robinson Prosise, caretaker and friend whom Jeff helped raise from childhood, and stepdaughter Mary Mayhugh and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sybil and daughter Joy Prosise. He will be laid to rest at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
