Sue Ann Bennett, age 73, of Grants Pass, OR, passed away at her home on Saturday April 18th, 2015. Services will be held May 4th, 2015 at1 pm at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Sue was born in Kellyville, OK, to Bill and Violetta Dean on August 24th, 1941. Her family soon relocated to Van Nuys, CA via troop trains during WWII before eventually laying down roots in Grants Pass. Sue grew up in the New Hope Road area and graduated from GPHS in 1959. A mother first and foremost, Sue played the role of homemaker until the age of 26 when she went to work in sales. At the age of 42, Sue received her Certification of Driver’s Education Instruction from OSU. She taught Driver’s Education at GPHS, NVHS, and RCC up until retirement. An avid sports fan, Sue enjoyed attending Baseball, Football, and Basketball games year-round. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family above all else. She is survived by 3 children, Syndee, Bogie, and Angelia; 3 grandchildren, Corey, Tyler, and Mckinnon; her older sister Joyce Green and many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by two children, Shelley and Gregory Scott, her brother Sam Dean, a sister, Judith K. Saunders, and both her mother and father.
