Here is another photo to share with Vern's family...he's helping me celebrate a birthday.
I always remember him as a bit of a jokester, with that jovial smile!  I will miss this man.  He truly made coming to work at my shop next door something to look forward to!

Bill and Jacque from Santa Cruz want Vern's family to know how very much we enjoyed our friendship with Vern and Denise while they lived nearby.  Bill especially remembers (quite fondly) the camaraderie which Vern brought to the Santa Cruz area...Stanford Avenue Garage was, indeed, the most popular spot for "the guys" to gather for Friday afternoon BBQ on the grill!  What a way to kick off the weekend.
We had some great times having dinner together, and putting together a party or two.

Even after the Padgetts' move North, we continued to drop in occasionally while traveling to Washington to visit our son.  Seems like all the good people move to the Great Northwest.

It's with surprise and sadness that the news of Vern's passing has reached us.  Somehow in our busy lives we always thought that the next trip north, we would call ahead and arrange to get together.  Vern will always be in our memories.  When the time is right, we would like to hear from Denise, his lovely wife.
