Carole Corbett Newman

She is survived by her spouse Neil E. Newman and her children Linda E. Moore (spouse Jody), and Joe W. Ezzell (spouse Debra).

Her grandchildren are Cory E. Herpel, Joe W. Ezzell II (spouse MacKenzie), Lindsey E. Simpson (spouse Cade), Jacob W. Ezzell (spouse Kelci), David J. Sprick (spouse Becky), and J. Daniel Sprick.

Her great grandchildren are Abigail Herpel, Lily Herpel, Lumi Ezzell, Joe W. Ezzell III, Gunnar Ezzell, Cooper Simpson, Camden Simpson, Samantha Sprick, Liam Sprick, and Casey Sprick.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe C. Ezzell and her daughter Susan K. Williams.

Carole was born on September 8, 1937 in Gainesville TX to parents Harry H. and Jewel C. Corbett.

Carole graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas in 1955. She then attended Texas Western College where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She married Joe C. Ezzell in August 1956. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics From Texas Western College (now known as UT El Paso) in 1963 after taking a break to have her children, twins Susan and Linda, 1958, and Joe 1960. She continued her education and received a BA in Mathematics in 1963. Then began working on a Masters degree while teaching at UTEP part-time. She received a Master of Science in Mathematics in 1970. Carole then began teaching for El Paso Public Schools. Carole and Neil met while both were teaching at Austin High School. Carole moved to Dallas, TX in 1979 and married Neil E. Newman in March 1979.

Carole worked as a computer programmer for the City of Dallas, Computer Language Research, Applied Data Research, and Computer Associates until 1996. She then worked part-time for the City of Dallas until she retired in 1997.

Carole enjoyed traveling with Neil, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and needlework.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

The family will honor Carole’s life with an inurnment service at DFW National Cemetery on February 4, 2026, at 1:15 p.m.
