

Dorothy Jean (Peterson) Elmer Woolf was born Dec. 30, 1931 in South Bountiful, Utah, the daughter of Bennett and Florence (Pulley) Peterson. She passed away Jan. 6, 2015 in Grapevine, Texas at the age of 83. Dorothy had a passion for music, was an excellent classical pianist and taught piano lessons throughout her life. She was very creative and enjoyed crochet, fashion design, and floral arranging. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also a lifelong devoted and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities from music to women and youth programs. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Golden Charles Elmer and her second husband, Lynn Evan Woolf. She was also preceded in death by 12 siblings and one of Lynn’s daughters, Mary Katherine Paventy. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James Benson and Paula (McQueen) Elmer of Spokane, WA, Jerry Bennett and Tanya (Semones) Elmer of Flower Mound, TX, John Golden and Cheryl (Semones) Elmer of Westlake, TX, Jeffrey Charles and Margaret (Wilder)Elmer of Spokane, WA and Joseph William and Stephanie (Jones) Elmer of Flower Mound, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Bennett and Ailsa Peterson of Bountiful, UT; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Bob Humphrey of Vista, CA. Lynn’s children, who she loved as her own, Robert Evan and Kathleen (Brown)Woolf of Olympia, WA, John Andrew and Donna (Brereton)Woolf of Flower Mound, TX, Sarah Ann and Gary Adamson of Orem, UT; Greg and Tina Paventy of Boise, ID; Laurie and Spencer Moore of Pleasant Grove, UT. On the Elmer family side she had 24 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. On the Woolf family side she had 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Dorothy or “Grammie” as she was known by her family was the central key to the great love that exists between all of these family members. Her love, optimism, listening ear, and beautiful music will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 2pm to 3:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 500 W McDonwell School Rd, Colleyville, TX. Services will follow at 3:30pm at the church with Bishop David Smith officiating. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, UT.
