Ed was born on December 10, 1944 to Walter Baer and Reba Baer in Fort Worth, Texas, where he lived for most of his life. He spent most of his career working for Hamilton Form Company in a variety of roles, including as General Manager of one of their divisions and as Vice President of Sales. He was a devoted husband and father who helped create a loving and supportive home for his children. He had a great love of the outdoors, which lives on in his children and grandchildren, and pursued a number of other interests, including photography, architecture, and boxing. He was an avid traveler and shared many trips across the globe with his partner. He was especially passionate about woodworking and shared with his family many pieces of skilled design and craftsmanship, which are now treasured mementos. But his most important passion was his love for his family, which, even as his illness took its toll, was greatly felt by all.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Alice Baer. He is survived by his partner of 27 years, Margaret Davis; son Tony Baer and his wife Margaret Barry; son Eric Baer and his wife Angie Baer; and grandchildren Kate Baer and Evelyn Baer.
A memorial will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. The memorial will be livestreamed, and details will be posted once they are available.
