Elizabeth Kuhn

Betty was born in Tiffin, Ohio on June 21, 1934. She attended St. Joseph's School and Calvert High School in Tiffin. She went on to study at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio.

Betty began her career as a Surgical Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio. In 1967, she moved to San Diego, California, where she worked at Children's Hospital. She ended her career as Director of Employee Health at the VA Hospital in La Jolla, California. After retirement, she worked for over 10 years at the Cancer Society Resale Shop in La Jolla.

Betty was a devout Catholic and attended St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in San Diego. She demonstrated her Christian faith in the way she lived and supported her church through volunteer ministries. Betty had a passion for caring for the many dogs she had throughout her life and enjoyed walking at Mission Bay.

Betty is survived by her niece Anne Jones, along with other nieces and nephews: Carol Hammer, Linda La Fountain, Nancy Courtney, Bonnie Yandura, George Kuhn, Geraldine Bolte, Janette Kennedy, Charleen Catt, Analissa Bowers, Kate Borer, Mary Friedman, John Kuhn, and Tom Kuhn and her lifelong friend Clara (Marie) Daniel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hubertine (Mueller) Kuhn, father Albert Kuhn, brothers Albert (Pete), John, George, and Thomas, and sister Kathleen Sexton.

A Mass on July 25, 2023 at 1:30PM, will be held in Betty's honor at Mission San Luis Rey de Francia in Oceanside, California, followed by interment at the Mission in the Garden of the Little Flower. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catholic Charities or the SPCA. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
