

James Oliver Waterman, age 82, of Coppell, TX passed away on January 16, 2023. Jim was born October 20, 1940, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Frank and Eunice Waterman. He was a 1958 graduate of Snyder High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. Jim married Alma Nell Hillis on September 2, 1960, in Camp Springs, TX. He served in the United States Air Force for four years then began a career with Eastman Kodak that lasted more than 30 years. His work had them relocate several times including to Altus, OK, England, Houston, Dallas, Cleveland, and Rochester, NY.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. He could fix or build just about anything, from cars to computers. His family and friends benefited from his knowledge, skills, and his willingness to share them. He was a steady, loving, and loyal father and husband. Jim was the full-time caregiver for Alma for the last 17 years of her life.
He is survived by his daughter Rhea (Rob) Phelan, son Warren (Cynthia) Waterman, grandchildren Bobby (Mandie) Phelan, Billy (Anna) Phelan, Owen Waterman, Kyra Waterman, Hope Waterman, and great-grandchildren Natalia Phelan and Robbie Phelan.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alma Waterman.
Memorial Service: Grapevine, TX on January 21, 2023, with later interment in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
