Madille Roberts Vaughn

Madille Roberts Vaughn, age 100 of Kaufman, TX passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Forney, TX. Born on December 12, 1923, to James and Lola Belle Roberts, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Vaughn, daughters Virginia and Cynthia (Cindy) and grandson, Christopher.

Madille was born in Wood County, TX as the second of nine children to her parents. It was there she met the love of her life Tom Vaughn, and the two were married on February 7, 1942, until he preceded her in death in January 2001. Together, they had 4 children and lived a life of service and love.

Madille began her career at Collins Radio and retired from there before starting a new career at the city of Euless, where she ultimately retired as the Chief of Fire’s secretary. She and Tom were faithful members of the congregation at South Euless Baptist Church. After Tom’s death, she moved to Kaufman, TX to be closer to family, where she attended Southside Baptist Church.

Madille loved sports (especially the World Champion Texas Rangers), rodeoing, bowling, playing bingo and spending time with family; but above all she loved the Lord. She dedicated her life to Jesus and was a faithful servant and prayer warrior. Many who knew and loved her would tell you that she has prayed them through every high and low in their life and she was never one to judge or criticize.

She never missed an opportunity to give you a big hug and tell you how happy she was to see you; she always kept a warm and welcoming home where friends and family often gathered for a delicious home-cooked meal.

Affectionately known as “grandmother”, she was always present in her grandchildren’s lives and took in many of their friends as her own. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and was never without a crossword puzzle or her Bible nearby.

As the Matriarch of her family, she loved them deeply and without bounds and it is through that love that they will carry her memory with them until they are together with her again one day in Heavenly Eternity.

Madille is survived by her children Tommy Vaughn (Kay) and Kelly Vaughn McCune (Scott); grandchildren Aaron Vaughn (Jennifer), Ashley Vaughn, Tami Taylor (Jim), Trey Wommack (Valerie), Cortni Zuniga (Frankie), Bailee Randolph (Jacob), Rhett Davis, Kylee Davis, Aubree McCune and Tysen McCune; great grandchildren, Jessalyn Vaughn, James Taylor (Abby), Raegan Garnett (Zach), Cole Taylor (Madison), Kaitlin Wommack, Gavin Wommack, Jenna Wommack, Aimee Puente, Natalie Puente, Nathan Zuniga and Ashlyn Zuniga, Brooks Randolph, and Blake Randolph and several great, great grandchildren. Sister, Lola Fay Baker; and numerous other family members, friends, caregivers, and friends of her grandchildren she considered her own.

Visitation for Madille is Saturday, June 15, 2024, beginning with family only visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and public visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at J.E Foust & Sons Funeral Home, 523 S. Main Street, Grapevine, TX 76051.

A graveside service will take place following the funeral at 1:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
