Mark Walter Clark was born on October 15, 1952 on a U.S. military base in Landstuhl, Germany. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado and served as a missionary in Costa Rica for 15 years. Mark later retired from Fidelity Investments in 2016 as a Series Seven Investment Trainer.
He served in various ministries at Irving Bible Church including Stephen Ministry and as a member of the Board of Directors for the church’s Kinwest Clinic. He passed away after a cardiac arrest April 25th, 2020.
Mark was intelligent, witty and unabashedly honest. He had a deep appreciation of music and art. He was passionate about ideas and was a God gifted teacher. He loved learning and could speak to anyone about anything providing wise counsel.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Will and Virginia Clark. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ashbeck Clark, his son Ethan Clark and wife Allison, his daughter Patrizia Prego Palomino and husband Chris, his daughter Nidia Prego Zaravar and husband Shawn. He is also survived by his sister Marsha Clark Hamilton and husband Ron, and his nephew Clark Hamilton.
Mark honored the Lord by faithfully shepherding those Christ placed in his care. He never met a stranger and had adopted “lambs” from every walk of life extending to the far reaches of the earth. Mark will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the hundreds who were counseled and cherished by him.
