

Patricia Ann Few Stinson 87, passed away on Feb. 26, 2023. She was affectionately known as Pat to her many friends and family. Pat was born on May 11, 1935, in Midlothian, TX to Royal Windell Few and Pauline Hassell Few who were descendants of early Texas pioneers. Pat also descended from one of the signers of the US Constitution. William A. Few of Georgia and other members of the Few family fought in the Revolutionary War. Her Grandfather William A. Few was a member of the Texas Legislature during the early 1930s. She often commented on how she wished she would have known him and hoped that when she makes it to heaven one day, she can have long talks with him. She had a great love of her family, her hometown of Midlothian, and later Grapevine. She came from a long line of service-oriented family members and she became active in her community very early in life.
Pat was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Grapevine and she had a close relationship with God whom she relied on and spoke with daily to get her through the toughest days.
Pat graduated from the University of North Texas holding a Business degree and an Elementary and Secondary Education Teaching degree. She was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She met her husband Clyde W. Stinson while in college and married Aug. 1957. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1958 and in Aug. 1958, they gave birth to a son Stephen W. Stinson. Their daughter Sherri Diane was born 6 years later.
She and her husband Clyde enjoyed 14 years at Austin Patio Dude Ranch entertaining Corporate and Convention guests giving them a true Texas experience with BBQ and Western entertainment; including welcoming the Concord guests to Austin Ranch during the opening of the DFW Airport.
She was very active in her community of Grapevine during her years at Austin Ranch, continuing upon retirement until she passed away. She served on the Board of Directors of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Women's division serving as President. She also was a member and President of the Cannon Elementary PTA, Dove Elementary PTA, the Grapevine Garden Club, and 36 Women's Club. She was a member and one-year president of the Garden Club. She was a member of the Tuesday Study Club, a Charter Member of the Grapevine Heritage Society, and served on the Board of Directors of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation where she was involved with the renovation of the Palace Theatre and Nash Farm. She served from 1999 until the present time being an honorary lifetime member. Pat's husband Clyde was also very active in the community of Grapevine, elected to the GISD School Board where he served for nine years. He was also active in the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. Her son Steve was a proud member of the Grapevine Ambucs and he was on the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors for 9 years serving as Chairman for many of those years. Pat was honored with a lifetime membership in the PTA and DE Box Citizen of the year. She enjoyed meeting and greeting visitors to Grapevine and helping in any way she could to promote the city she loved so well.
Pat enjoyed traveling across the US, especially to Montana and Yellowstone with her husband Clyde. She loved the trips to the beach with her family and carried on that tradition with her children and extended family. She visited her daughter in South Africa some twenty-plus times and loved her many adventures in the bush of South Africa.
She is survived by her daughter Sherri Diane Stinson Van Eeden and son-in-law Cornelius Van Eeden of South Africa, Grandson Stephen W. Stinson Jr. and daughter-in-law Monique Stinson of Grapevine, brother Jon W. Few of Midlothian, nieces Kelly Few Benner, Julie Few Stephenson, and great nieces Danielle, Chelsea, Natalie, Faith, Blake, Amanda, and great nephew Jon. Sister-in-law Dorothy Boyd of Paris; niece LeeAnn Stinson, nephews Gary Boyd, Craig Boyd, Alan Boyd. And now many great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents R.W. and Pauline Few, her husband of 42 years, Clyde W. Stinson, and her son Stephen W. Stinson and grandson Jeremy Craig Stinson.
