

Tommie Jean Staton Cochron, was born September 12, 1928 in Abilene,Texas to Velma Anne Eoff Daniels Staton and Thomas Ovis Staton. Her home-going was on December 27, 2022. She graduated from Hills School of Business in OKC, OK and married Hugh Cochron when she was 18 years old. They were married for 50 years, until his passing in 1997. She spent memorable times on her grandparents’ horse ranch near Snyder and developed a life-long passion for riding. She worked in the law offices of Blanton, Dedrick, McMahon, McKim and Roy Bell for many years and also taught swimming to special needs children and elderly adults. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Eastern Star. She lived in Odessa for 60 years, was a member of Belmont Baptist for 50 years, then First Baptist for a short time before moving to Flower Mound, Texas in 2014.
She is survived by daughter Olivia Anne Cochron McGowan and spouse Chuck McGowan of Flower Mound, and son Staton Hugh Cochron of Salt Lake City, grandchildren Anne Catherine Turturro and spouse Chris, Marshall McGowan and spouse Megan, Kelly Waldrop and spouse Wally, and Kimmie Doss and spouse Joel, great grandchildren Bryce, Addie, Cade, Jake, Charli, Gideon, Abigail, Ben, Ashton, Gracie, Kaylee, A.J., Talyn and Kalani. She had 24 nieces and nephews and was predeceased by a son, James Thomas Cochron.
Visitation will be held at Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, 3:00-6:00, Monday, January 2, and burial service at Mt. Olive Cemetery Chapel in Big Spring on January 5 at 1:00.
