A chapel service for Carrie will be held on Thursday - February 27, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, 55 North Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY 11021.
Carrie Landau, a longtime resident of Greenwich Village, was a free spirit, and a marvelously interesting woman. A public-school teacher, Shakespearean scholar and crack Scrabble player, Carrie had an intellectual curiosity and generosity of spirit that made her engaging and fun to be with. She loved Paris and used to take her nieces and nephews on one-on-one trips to wonderful places like Paris, and then Quebec when Paris proved too far to go. She loved to read – from Shakespeare to British murder mysteries to fantasy novels, sharing Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings with her young nieces and nephews.
Beloved Daughter, Sister and Aunt . . . Carrie, you are loved, and you will be missed.
