

Born February 19, 1923 in Flushing, NY, “Ed”, was the son of the late Adele (Meltsner) and Charles Pores. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas University ('49) and an advanced degree as a Licensed Professional Engineer from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
Ed married Faye Anne Rosen on August 11, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. They were inseparable for 65 years, until Anne’s passing in 2011. They traveled to over 25 countries, shared a mutual love for archaeology, jazz and theater, the Great Books Club, and a “Gourmet “ Club. Ed was an electronics engineer and sales representative, a passionate amateur radio operator (WA2ZBV) and former President of the Long Island Amateur Mobile Radio Club. He served as President of the American Institute of Archaeology: Long Island (AIA:LI) Ed was a lifelong learner and had a zest for life!
Ed is survived by his brother, Wolfert (Wolfie) Pores and sister-in-law Edna. He was the loving father of Susan Pores Rehberg (Bill) of Brooklyn, NY; Charles “C.P.” Pores, of Nashville, TN, Melanie Pores (Fred Pfeiffer) of Albany, NY. Ed was the loving grandfather of Tara Pfeiffer Norrell (Kevin) of Burlington, VT, Seth Shearer of Seattle, WA and twin granddaughters, Aurora Pfeiffer of Hollywood, CA and Kayna Pfeiffer of NYC.
