Fred and I were friends for many years and had a broad spectrum of topics and things we shared. We were racquet ball players and enjoyed crazy Jewish humor. I do think about him quite a bit and am sorry we were not connected when he passed.

Best Friends: Just by chance saw this today 6/25. I moved two doors down at 363 Ave T when I was 4 and knew no one.  Freddie was 4 too, and came up to me that first day and said , "You wanna be best friends Joey". I said yes. And that was that, we were inseparable for the next 10 years. At 5, although I went to Catholic School and Freddie was Jewish, we asked our parents if we could go to the same school the next year and were so depressed to find that could not happen.So many memories, could recount them all day. Actually mentioned some in my novel. So sad, condolences to Elaine and Beverly and family..

I was saddened to hear of Fred's passing. I remember him fondly from P.S. 215 thru to Lincoln H.S. May he rest in peace.
