My sincere condolences to Sol and children 
 Joan was a special lady.

A beautiful person inside and out, strength and elegance combined with intellect and passion. Growing up, Sol and Joan were frequently mentioned around our dinner table. On behalf of my siblings, Philip Moncharsh, Nan Moncharsh Reiner and myself, Diane Moncharsh Leyden we send the Wachtler family our sincere condolences. 

I was a classmate of Joan Wolosoff in the lower grades of Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, Queens  (which Donald Trump and his sister later attended--he was thrown out). 
She was the prettiest in the class; with an adorable smile and lovely blond hair which I once tried to dip into the ink well on my desk, as I sat behind her.
In 7th grade we put on a play about Pinocchio. I was Pinocchio, my best friend, Marty Levine, was Jiminy Cricket, Joan was the Fairy Godmother and I was in heaven . When  we three danced together it was one of the happiest moments of my life. I am not sure whether Joan ever knew it, but I was in love. 
I have been blessed to have been married to a wonderful woman and partnered with others; but I have never forgotten "my first love".

My condolences to the family. I knew Joan when I worked at LIJ and she was at the Samuel Field Y. We shared an interest and passion in improving services for the elderly. She was a pleasure to work with, a true professional who was devoted to the social services. 
May her memory be for a blessing. 

Joan was my role model. Her class and poise were outstanding. I emulated her even to her love of the water. So sorry that we did not communicate in the later years.

Joan was a classmate of my mother at Adelphi school of social work. My mother was grateful to have a generous and beautiful friend like Joan who was remarkably supportive in every way.

Joan was an accomplished therapist and consummate professional. Her work at the Jewish Y was greatly respected. 
She was responsible for the development of an aging at home program, that should be greatly expanded.
Joan was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and  recent 
Great grand mother.
Joan will be very missed.
