Another year has passed by dear Lauren. I can’t believe it’s already 11 years. You will always be remembered by those who loved you and love you still. The messages from your former students just about say it all. How you touched many of all ages and instilled your passion for life and learning. Bless your heart 💜 Miss you always lovely friend 💜

 There’s so much I want to tell you. You changed my life in ways you could ever imagine. I was 6 when we met, Class 1-302. You’d  give us so much homework (at the time, writing Tiny Moments was a torment!) I struggled so much academically & everyday you’d tell me you can do it! Never give up! It sounded impossible at 6 years old.  Now, at 23,  in Med school & graduating soon…  that’s  all I can ever think about,  those words & your voice.  You don’t know how much you mean to me. You don’t know how much I’d love for you to be here now. I’ve waited 10 years to say my last  words to you. Every birthday I wait for your call. Every day I wish I was 6 again, writing those tiny moments. Can you believe I don’t let anyone call me Jenny.  
Two thousand characters aren’t enough for all the memories I have of you. I wish to see you again. I hope I see you again. I really miss you.

To me and my sisters  first grade teacher, we miss you so much… think about you all the time in random moments in life. Have kept up this picture in our childhood bedroom since the moment you left us. I’m 20 now in college for marketing and my sister is 23 in med school, you would be so proud of us. As you would always tell us at 7 years old, “you can do it” and “ YES WE CAN :)”

I just found out about Lauren's passing. I'm heart broken. She was a dear friend of mine and  I can only think of Lauren as a very humble and happy person.

I can't believe that five years have passed by Lauren. Sometimes it seems like yesterday and sometimes like a lifetime ago. Regardless of time, I will always miss you lovie. You are in my thoughts always. Love you xxx

As the school year will begin this coming week in New York City, I think of Lauren.
As her birthday approaches, I think of Lauren.
As I think of her family, her friends, and Lisa, I offer my thoughts that although I did not know Lauren for as long as I would have liked, I still have in my mind her kindness, her smile, and her sense of humor.  
I hope that people will offer their thoughts here as this Guest Book will go off line soon, and it is our memories of our passing loved ones that I think keep us going, in a sense.

I met Lauren in the Summer of 2004 through Lisa.  She and I developed a friendship over the next several years.  Although, I saw her mostly with Lisa, Lauren and I would share sushi together in Great Neck, and I helped set up her classroom in The South Bronx where she seemed to thrive as did her students.  I kept in touch with her for a while and then "life" got in the way.  I took her two cats, Desi and Lucy and gave them a good home. I was so saddened when I read by accident of Lauren's "moving on."  Now, it's a year and it's so hard to believe that that time has passed. I can vividly remember Lauren and Lisa's conversations over the telephone with their little nicknames for each other. I am not one to express feelings in an open forum, but I do so because Lauren was a good soul, full of intelligence and humor.  I am glad that I had the opportunity to share some good times, and not so good times with her over those years.  Wherever you are, Lauren, I know you are making the ones that surround you laugh with your great sense of humor and warmth.

Hey friend I thought about you again on my way home from work. I know you dont want us to but I got teary again. This week I mentioned you to another friend & I can tell she misses you as much as we all do. We wish you were with us again but I know you want us to understand that it came time for you to rest. Thank you again for every moment you gave us all and for every lesson not just to our children.        :(     I miss you in the school yard and I will miss our laughs on parent teacher night. I don't know what we are going to do when our eyes look for you as usual at our schools back yard... Who will our kids run to for hugs... Our visits to the school will not be complete with out you stopping by the parents room to share laughs & hugs with us... The closer the first day of school gets, the more we know we will have to face the truth, that It was not a bad dream but that you really are no longer with us... Bobo and Oreo wanted me to write to you again to let you know they are really missing your almost daily 330 pm calls to check up on them and I miss you too. We all used to sometimes listen in on your calls with Mommy Lisa - you guys made us laugh so hard . We remember when you came to live with us for a while - you used to take us for walks and play with us . Liz and Lisa had so much fun staying up and watching Tv with you before you would nod off on the sofa . We miss your funny jokes and how you and Lisa used to say things to make us roll over in stitches laughing our heads off !! How we will all miss you so much . Dear Lauren, momma Jo would like you to know she misses you very much. She always thought about you everytime she made her famous seafood salad that you especially loved and always asked for, on Easter and Christmas time. You hear me!!!  Those words I will never forget.  Boo, they say time heal all wounds but in this case I think not or ever.  You were such a special person in my life.  I miss your voice.  I miss your beautiful smile.  I miss the I don't knows.  I miss your calls.  The days are not the same and I wonder if you are doing okay in heaven.  Are you warm enough?  Have you bumped into your grandparents yet?  Did you see Buttons?  I know you loved that cat so much so I know he found his way to you.  You can't be missed.  Your smile, your laughter and funny comments like I don't know, you'll be alright, dummy, to name a few, will be missed by me tremendously.  Boo, again, with all the strength I can muster, I miss you, I miss you and I miss you some more.  I can't be angry at God for taking you away because God wanted your pain to end and saw fit this was the way to go.  I have accepted it but cannot get over it.  I love you so much and again wish you were here with me.  I don't know.  You'll be alright too Boo. I love you.

Enjoy your next great life, Lauren - you made so much of this one, and helped a lot of young people to do the same.  I know your sense of humor and the beauty of your heart will shine on always!!


Every time I see I butterfly I think of you!

Lauren's laughter, sense of humor and love of life was experienced by all who knew her. She brightened every room she entered and touched every soul she contacted. How she loved her "kids" and took such pride in their accomplishments. Lauren, you are missed and will continue to be so. You were a very special and really good lady.

I can't believe that you are gone. I don't know how I am going to continue on without you. You had an infinite amount of strength and always made the sun come out… even on the gloomiest days. We were a special “team,” as you we fought those bad koopas together for years. I know even though you are not here in person, I know you will always be cheering me on from afar and still fighting with me... just as we always have been... just as we always will be... just like Mario (a.k.a. you) and Luigi (a.k.a. me) have always done. You had so many amazing qualities, and I would never have made it this far without you, and I don't know how I am going to continue without you. Being your roommate in the hospital was one of the best things that could have happened to me because I was given such a great friend... a friend that looked out for me, a friend that cheered me on and supported me, a friend who made me laugh, a friend who never let me give up, and a friend who continued to "push me." Even when things didn’t look good, you always told me that "everything was going to be all right." You were the BEST friend I could ever have. You will forever be missed and forever be in my heart. I am def going to miss those text messages and little pictures to "pick" me up!!

Dear Lauren. We cannot believe you are gone . It was just weeks ago when we spoke to you -always being the strong  one telling us not worry / that you would alright .I didn't know you as long as some people did but in the 6 years I did know you I grew to love you and care about you very much . You were very good to people... You believed in people and you were very loyal . You will be deeply missed .

Lauren was one classy lady who helped mold the life of my sweet 17 year old daughter in her younger years.  They say it takes a village to raise a family and Lauren was part of my village from 1994 - 1999.  Lauren's smile, laughter and love touched the lives of so many young children and so many parents. You were always the first to tell me to never give up.  I will miss the text messages and phone calls from you.  I met you when I was five years old and still remember the values and lessons you taught me over the years.  When I decided to become a teacher I was proud to say it was because of you, my mentor.  I will always remember watching you teach the children in your classroom in the Bronx and thinking...I want to be like her.  You made me believe that I could go forward and become a teacher.  Our inside jokes will live on with me and I promise to never forget you. The world has lost a great person and if everyone was like you Lauren, the world would be a better place. Darling Lauren....always smiling, always caring, always perfect in so many ways.  When I met you, you were still in your teens...a college student in Boston.  You worked for six summers at CMP Day Camp and were the best counselor I hired.  The kids truly loved you...and you loved and cared for each of them, with patience and guidance.  Then we worked together for six more years as you helped me begin a child care center for AIP...my preschool teacher and Assistant Director.  You taught the children to never give up....and "what's different makes us special."  Our work relationship put us together, but our hearts made us friends.  And what a wonderful friend you were....to me and my husband and my daughter.  Missing you goes without saying....loving you was always easy....and now we must face life without you....gone too soon, my dear friend...much too soon.
