Forever in my ❤️ Can’t believe is a year

OMG! 😞 I was just thinking about him tonight (2-23-2022) and decided to look for him in the internet, I just found out! I am so sad!  I can only express my condolences to the daughters and son! I am Julia from Puerto Rico, we used to be a very happy couple back in 1995-2000, my family loved him endlessly.  😢

Blessings to the Lax Family. May you find peace and comfort in God’s unfailing love.

My late father Bernard Lax was his uncle. The family he was born into were Orthodox Jews. 

We had a great conversation this day. Every time I saw my grandfather I learned something new. I wish we had more time but I’ll cherish these moments forever. 

I’m not sure how old I was but I’m so grateful to have this memory of my dad.

A man may die, but his legacy will continue through his dead. Today the pain of loosing you is difficult to bear because your family "Automatic Connector" needed you for some decades more.

You were there on of all my family big celebrations.  We love you and we won't never forget your kindness.

Dave was the best to me... always.  Michelle and I were roommates many moons ago and I was made an honorary member of the family way back then.  Even when we spent years without seeing one another, Dave loved to celebrate his family in style, whenever he saw you.   I will never forget the kindness he always managed to extend to me, my family, my children and our friends.  I will miss Dave.  I took this photo of him at Ben's Graduation celebration in DC... Our deepest Condolences for this tremendous loss.

Oh Dave!!! I am saddened knowing that you are gone. I can only say thank you, not only for the memories but also for all the lessons you taught me. I learned a lot working for you in Brooklyn - including party planning, one of my favorite things to do. I will always remember you turning on the record player on the weekends and how when Frank Sinatra’s my way came on, you sang it loudly & like you meant every word. Jhoanna, my heart goes out to you. I know how much you loved each other. I am glad to have been a part of your lives for as long as I was. Sending you, family and all of his friends love and light. 


I have fond memories of my fathers friend David.  I especially remember his sense of humor, and his generosity to our family on many shared occasions both in NYC and Maryland.  May his memory be a blessing.

I enjoyed the small moments I spent with Mr Lax and his family.  He was so full of life and vigor. What was obvious to me was how deeply he lived his family. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

Thank You Uncle Dave for everything you have taught us and for always taking care of us. It really was a lovely pleasure for us to be able to spend some unique moments next to you uncle Dave. Moments that always will be significant for the entire family and that will be kept in our hearts.  

Uncle Dave’s caring and family legacy will always remain in our minds and hearts, as an example of life today and forever. We remember you with a smile on our faces, for all the beautiful memories you gave to us. We miss you, and we will miss you for the rest of our life.

More than our uncle, you were a second father to us, and we will always remember you with love… As a beautiful card note received from the neighbours read, “When someone you love becomes a memory, those memories become treasures” That’s how we are keeping Uncle Dave as a valuable treasure in our lives.

Dear Jhoanna,

Joanne and I wanted to express our deepest sympathy to you on the passing of your beloved husband.
I personally feel a great loss as I regarded Dave as a very close friend, a person I admired greatly over the last 25 years.

Major General David Lax was a person who helped many individuals and groups whenever the need arose.  Dave was a person of the highest integrity, compassion and generosity.  I don’t ever recall him saying anything but yes to someone or group in need. He devoted his life to his wife Jhoanna, his country and the military.  He was a strong leader of the New York Guard and was there to provide the leadership needed during and after 9/11. 

During his tenure as the Commanding  General of the New York Guard from 2004–2007 General Lax was fully committed to the Guard as a key component of the New York State Military.   Those who served with him express their deepest sympathy to his family as he will be missed by many.

There are a certain few people that you don’t want to miss as you go through your life – they are very special human beings.  For me, Dave Lax was one of those rare individuals that I got to know and love.

When I think of Mr. Lax, I think of a man who lived his life to the absolute fullest capacity possible. No one lived more than Pierre David Lax. He will be remembered as a storied man in every sense of the word.
I will forever cherish fond memories of enjoying many celebratory and holiday meals with him and his beautiful family. When I recall these memories, I feel his energetic spirit and remember what it was like to be in his presence. Mr. Lax had a sharp wit, funny quips, robust laughter, and a strong devotion to his family. It was truly a privilege to know this incredibly accomplished Renaissance man. He will be sorely missed.

Uncle David, I will miss you so much. Your humor, your stories, your business tales. You are one of the most genuine and generous people in my life. I Love you, and miss you.

So many memories with Dave its hard to pick a favorite. He was loving , caring , and always had everyone smiling . Id walk through the store with him and remember him say “Cmon little one”, holding my hand as we walked, we came across those hats which he put on me. It was a blessing to have met Mr. Lax at the wonderful birthday party he held for Michelle. There was a lot of love in that room that day, especially when he spoke about her. It remains a fond memory. Rest in Peace.

Since we did not get up to New York often anymore, we looked forward to seeing Uncle Dave at Passover time each year when he came to Miami for a few weeks. This was one of the last Passovers that we got to spend with him. This is Chris with sons Hunter and Chase.

Dave always made sure to keep others happy he was the kindest most sweetest person who taught me and my sisters alot , with him it was nothing but laughs and love 🤍
