Sandra Nadler was born September 11th 1936 to Rae and Charles Nadler of Montreal, Canada. She was the youngest of two, with an older sister, Glory and then later, brothers Bobby and Lorne joined their family.
She grew up in Montreal with a big, loving family and got married to Arthur Spector in 1956 and moved to New York. Two years later, Robyn Sherri Spector was born and in 1964, Jay Erin Spector completed their family.
Sandra was truly an academic and was certainly ahead of her time by achieving her Masters at Columbia University in TESOL in 1989 and becoming the director of English as a Second Language in 1990 at Queens College and taught there for 25 years before retiring.
Though she loved teaching, her favorite role was a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren – Tara, Zachary, Sarah, Ivy and Bella. She attended every single life event, was a constant in their lives and provided so much love to them.
She was blessed to live to see her two great-granddaughters, Stella and Violet Dolitsky and was so happy to hear about their daily musings.
She had two additional ‘children’ in Steven Blumner and Rhena Spector and ‘grandson’, Doug Dolitsky
Nana, as she was known, was the most loving, special and involved mother and grandmother. We are so lucky that we knew her so well and that she was such an integral part of our lives.
