Susan Lynn Miller, 76, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on May 24, 2023. She was born on March 30, 1947, in Manhattan, NY, to Samuel and Ruth Miller. Susan graduated from Far Rockaway High School in 1964 and went on to study at Alfred University, then NYU where she graduated. She worked at Advance Abstract Title Company in Great Neck, NY, from 1990 to 2017, where she rose from a paralegal to Director of Operations in four short years. Her work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity were unparalleled. Susan's business acumen and sharp intellect set her apart.
Susan was loving, smart, sharp-witted, thoughtful, meticulous, and incredibly logical and practical even under the most stressful of circumstances. She was never bitter even when life dealt her challenges and never held a grudge to those she loved. Susan valued and offered loyalty to all, and prioritized doing the right thing even when it was more difficult. She had an eye for design and fashion and left her family with a beautiful home that she created with years of hard work, dedication, and love.
Susan was completely devoted to her family, taking incredible care of her husband, Carl, and children, Aaron and Allison, up until her last day. She was devoted to her husband and always concerned about his health and well-being, thinking about him before herself. As a mother, she was 100 percent devoted to her children, giving them every opportunity, supporting and nurturing their interests and talents so that they could become all they were meant and able to be. Everyone who knew her always said she was so kind and thoughtful, loved her children, and was proud of her children beyond words. She was proud of her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She loved them just as much and treasured every moment she could spend with them, prioritizing her time and resources so that she saw them as much as possible.
Susan had a passion for film editing in her early years before marriage, cooking, reading, tennis, planting flowers, and, most of all, loving her family. She was a member and worshiped at Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn, NY. Her faith was very important to her, and she did all she could to observe the rituals of Judaism.
Susan is survived by her husband, Carl, her children, Aaron and Allison, her son-in-law, Shaw Tilton, her granddaughters, Phoebe Youmans-Miller and Sonya Youmans-Miller, and her brother, Harris. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel and Ruth, and her brothers, Robert and Steven.
A funeral service is planned for New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, Long Island, on Sunday, May 28th at 2:30pm. A webcast will be sent upon request, and any other zoom memorials and shiva will be announced. Susan left too soon, and we will always wish to have one more day with her.
The family kindly requests donations in lieu of flowers in Susan's memory, and suggests the following:
