

Long time Estes Park resident Al Sager died at Prospect Park Living Center January 2, 2018. He was 96 years old. Albert Arthur Sager was born October 15, 1921 in Denver, CO. His parents were John and Pauline (Wall) Sager. On June 8, 1946 he married Joyce Dannels of Estes Park. The couple made their home in Estes Park where Al worked at H.D. Dannels Construction Company. He served his country in the United States Air Force, spent time in Germany during World War II and in Korea and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After discharge, Al spent 17 years in the Reserves and International Guard. In Estes Park he was a member of the Community Church of the Rockies, The Rotary Club of Estes Park, American Legion Post 119 and Toastmasters. He also served the community on the boards of the Estes Valley Improvement Authority, AARP, the Estes Park Board of Adjustment and the Estes Valley Planning Commission. Joyce died in 2003. Al married Lucille Minnick in 2008. Lucille died in December, 2013. A Celebration of Al’s Life is planned on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 11:00 at Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies.
