Charlotte Kay Roper, age 79, of Fort Collins passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020. Charlotte was born in Fort Lupton, Colorado on November 28, 1940 to Lawrence and Leota (Davis) Dunston. She attended Hudson High School in Hudson, Colorado, and then went on to graduate with a teaching degree from UNC (formerly Colorado State College) with many of her Alpha Sigma Alpha sisters.
Charlotte married Richard Roper on December 17, 1961 and the couple made their home in Johnstown, Colorado, where Charlotte was a Business Teacher at Roosevelt High School for over 20 years. She was very active in the Johnstown and Greeley communities. She loved to make the world a better place, whether it be mentoring her students or providing unconditional support to those around her. Along with her husband, she enjoyed travelling, gardening and always having an open door for friends and family to stop by.
She is survived by her husband and her daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Marty Miller and Boyd and Leslie Mekelburg. She is also blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Zach, Easton Edward, and Sydney, who she will love and support always. Charlotte is also survived by her sister Janet (Larry) Kuhnke and her amazing family.
