Lit a candle in memory of Dean Gerhard Reimer

I am so sorry to learn about Dean's passing.  I knew him through First United Methodist Church.  He was such a testament to courage and strength.  During the many years of battling cancer, he remained involved and was at church nearly every Sunday.  We served on a committee together and he was always such a gentle and thoughtful man.  I know that you, his family, are missing him greatly.  I pray that you find peace and comfort in the times ahead.

To the family of Dean:  I taught with Dean at Rocky Mountain High and enjoyed his friendship as a colleague.  I kept the book for the Rocky Mountain boys basketball team and for a long time Dean ran the clock.  I remember one time when the Lobos were playing Niwot, the Niwot coaches son, who was about 10 I would guess, decided that Dean wasn't running the clock in a correct manner and tried to help him....well that was a huge mistake on his part and Dean told him to go sit on the bench by his dad....and we never heard another word out of him or his dad.  I really admired the fact that Dean was a major college football referee as well as a great teacher.

Dean was a colleague and good friend of ours for over 40 years. He was respected for his contributions to Poudre School District, his dedication to  family, church and community. He will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Barbara, Nate, Deirdre I want you all to know that I really enjoyed being around your Dad. We had a lot of fun working together at Rocky.  I always looked forward to have Dean as one of the football referees.  I knew we would have a good game called.  I did have to laugh at the pictures with him on the ground.  I always thought Dean was a very nice person, but after today, I found out he was a great Dad, Husband and Friend....God Bless Him and he will be watching from above.

I enjoyed knowing Dean and his good humor while working at the PR1 District Office. He was a perfect,and caring gentleman.

I got to know Dean at Rocky Mountain High School where I was an administrator.  He was a teacher as well as a parent.  He was outstanding in both roles,and I very much appreciated our friendship.  He also officiated many of our football games during those years.  I guess the best way to describe Dean is that he was always a gentleman.  I know that he is now in good hands.  My thoughts and prayers are with Dean's family.

Reimer Family:  I was so sad to hear of Mr. Dean passing.  He really did fight the good fight and now I believe he is at peace.  I have great memories of the ""crew"" meeting at our house prior to a game-laughing,bantering and giving dad a hard time about his pre-game organizing. Dad loved his ref buddies and Dean was high on his list. I can't help but think that they are enjoying each others company again-blowing their whistles and throwing their yellow flags!  May the love you shared as a family provide comfort.  May the memories and accalades shared by friends, family and former students lift you up and may the peace and grace of Jesus be with you always.

I have been blessed to know Dean since 1973. Dean along with Rex Wells hired me at Rocky Mountain High School when we opened the school. Dean and I became very good friends as we enjoyed teaching together.. Along the way we watched our kids grow up and all the great things that come with being blessed with your own children and the ones you teach.  Dean was a tireless advocate for kids.. He was a great teacher and friend to many.. When he officiated football he would also be there to help the kids play the game right..He taught on and off the field.  Thanks for sharing Dean with all of us Barb,Deirdre,Nate and families.. We are so much richer for knowing and loving him. The good news is the Hope in Jesus and all he brings to us.. We will see Dean again.

Mr. Reimer was my technology teacher at Lesher Junior High nearly 16 years ago, but I still remember him clearly.  I am now a middle school teacher myself, and can appreciate everything he had to put up with to devote himself to education for so long.  I want to say thank you to his family for sharing him with us.
