Delilah Mae "Dee" Jacoby

Dee was raised in Fleming, Colorado and attended Haxtun schools. She graduated from Colorado State Teacher’s College and received her Master’s degree from UNC. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and Alpha Delta Kappa.

On August 22, 1947 she married L.R. Jacoby in Haxtun. Dee and L.R. settled in Greeley soon after their marriage, where they raised their daughter, Dawn. After L.R. passed away, Dee shared her life with long-time friend, Bob Walters, until her passing.

Dee was a kindergarten teacher, first in Windsor and then at Cameron Elementary in Greeley. She retired from District 6 in 1986.

Dee loved traveling as well as attending her grandson Lee’s various sports events. She also enjoyed spending time with Bob, dragging him to the theatre whenever possible.

Dee is survived by her partner, Robert (Bob) Walters of Greeley; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn L. Jacoby and John A. Wilson both of Genesee, Colorado; grandson, Lee A. Wilson of Denver; brother-in-law, Fred Jacoby (Karen) of Fort Lupton; nieces, Anne Mayes of Greeley, Cathy Dahlquist (Gary) of Boise, Idaho and Karrie Jacoby of Beardstown, Illinoi and nephews, Henry Williams (Kit) of Morrison, Colorado and Doug Jacoby (Carol) of Denver, Colorado.

A Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
