Donald “Don” was born on November 30, 1930 to George Bailey and Leona K. (Puls) Armagost in Fosston, Colorado. He moved to Greeley at the age of ten. Don graduated from Greeley Central High and attended UNC. In 1950, he volunteered to build Mission churches for American Lutheran Church and helped build four churches. He served in the Army during the Korean War as an Army Engineer.
He married Betty Jane Stromberger on September 5, 1954. They had two daughters, Charisse and Adele both of Greeley. In 2002, they accompanied Charisse to China to adopt granddaughter, Leona Keller Wen Chu.
He worked as a residential contractor and was self-employed for many years doing remodeling and interior finish work.
Don was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and served on the Board of Parish Education for 20 years.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Robert and sister, Marilyn.
He is survived by his daughters, granddaughter and brothers, Thomas and Gary.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
