

Doris grew up in Ault, where she graduated from high school. She later graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in textiles. She worked at Bonell Good Samaritan Center as a registered dietician. She then earned her teaching certificate and her Master’s Degree from Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado). She taught high school vocational food service.
Doris was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Colorado Restaurant Association.
Doris loved to paint landscapes, cook for her family and sew. Time with her family was especially important. She was wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Doris is survived by her husband, Percy of Greeley; one daughter, Tammy Baldwin (Ken) of Windsor; three sons, William Stewart (Karen) and Alan Stewart all of Greeley and Sammy Nelson (Amanda) of Golden; two sisters, Bonnie Brown (Dale) of Hobbs, New Mexico and De Lambert (Dave) of Wellington; three granddaughters, Mara Sakkas (Arthur) of Kalambaka, Greece, Cheree Adams (Andrew) of Oak Harbor, Washington and Jeanette Drysdale (Kevin) of Enterprise, Alabama; two great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons.
Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Joann Jones, two sisters, Edna Capron and Louise Doughty and one brother, Roy Glidewell.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
