Doris O Walters

Doris attended Colorado State University and Northern Illinois State Teacher’s College.

She was a Home Economics teacher at Sandwich High School in Sandwich, Illinois, Meritt Hutton High School, Horon Jr. High in Thornton, Kerney State College in Nebraska and University of Northern Colorado.

On June 29, 1947 she married Eugene L. Walters in Evanston, Illinois. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Chapter FZ Retired Teacher’s Association.

Doris liked to travel and loved the mountains. She volunteered at North Colorado Medical Center and was on the Auxiliary board, where she was President. She enjoyed spending time with her companion, Ray Stork in her later years.

Doris is survived by two grandchildren, Kirstin Wilson and Nicholas E. Walters and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Andrew, Molly, Nicole, Olivia and Lukas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Leonard Walters, two sons, Kennith Robert Walters and Paul Eugene Walters, one brother, Robert Lleyellyn Young and her parents.
