I love and miss you dad. You've been a great father and teacher.  Thank you for being there for me. I miss the talks we had. Miss and love you dad.

This terrible snowstorm that scared us off from paying our respects at Doug's service is vintage Doug. The fact that he would leave Colorado in a record storm is commesurate with his arrival in Colorado.  On his way out here to stay with me for a few days while he got a job, his train had a bad wreck somewhere in Nebraska. He was all right but had assisted many who were not. Days late, when I drove to Union Station to pick him up, there he was, standing on the curbing with a rope tied around his suitcase. Needless to say, he was undaunted.. He went on to raise his family here and face the rest of life's challenges undaunted. It is getting lonely here, Cousin. May you have peace and watch over us all.

My first memory if my Uncle Doug was when I was a four year old flower girl in his wedding. I remember being scared and he was so supportive and kind to me.  My last memory is just as special because it was him being there for me at my own father's funeral, his brother Bill. You will be missed for sure.  Rest in peace Uncle and tell my Daddy I love him❤

Dear Lynn and all the family,

I am so sorry that we cannot be there tomorrow for Doug's service.  Lois, Kelly, Cassidy and I planned to attend but this crazy impending storm makes it too dangerous for us to get to Greeley.  I would love to give each of you a hug and tell you how sad I am for you and for his loss.    Your beautiful photos break my heart.  
Doug is a treasured part of my childhood, especially Christmas which we always spent together on the farm.  Lois and Billy may have had the starring roles, but Doug and I were proud to be shepherds carrying grandma's curtain rods!  So many wonderful stories.  We've stayed in touch over the years--not enough, but we always seemed to be able to pick up wherever we left off.  I will miss you, dear cousin.    Rest in peace.

Dad, you showed me what it means to love unconditionally.  You were strong yet gentle in life. I’m so blessed to have been raised by such an amazing man. I will always be your little rosebud 🌹. 

My dad was a true hero! He was the best father and sacrificed so much for us! He was such an amazing man and touched so many lives. He is flying high with the angels now! I love you dad!
