I first met Bert when I was a student in CCD at ST Anthony's.  He was very knowledgeable, fun and very likable as a teacher.( If my memory serves me right?)  Then I was lucky enough to have Bert become my GRAND Grandfather. I often think of him and Helen, they were great individuals and very giving.

I was sad to hear that Uncle Bert had passed away. I am glad that Beth, Madison, and I were able to spend some time over lunch with him along with Sally and Margie. He was a great person whom I always looked up to. I was always reminded of something I had done in my past. I can't imagine being one of his daughters with the memory he had. I am glad he is with Aunt Helen once again. I hope you will let us know a soon as you are able about a memorial for him. We would love to attend and to see you all again soon. He was a wonderful part of my life.

I don't know if you remember me, but we attended St. Michael's (Delta) and Delta H.S. So sorry to read about the passing of your father.  (I just happened to be checking the Loveland obits for a relative of my husband.  His services are on Saturday of this week.  Please relay my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to your family. I am sorry I did not get over to see Bert.  I was just thinking of him and all of you today and was going to call Mom and bring her over to see him next week. Please let me know when the memorial is.  He will be dearly missed by everyone. I work at Amish Showcase and we have a lot of people from Sterling come in and they all knew him. I always ask when they are from Sterling if they know any of you and someone always knows one of you...take care.  Cheryl

Our sincere sympathy goes to all of Bert's wonderful family. We remember spending precious time with Uncle Bert and Aunt Helen at Knotts Berry Farm enjoying their famous chicken dinner.  We were so happy to have Uncle Bert visit us at our home in Cypress approximately 2002.  He was also a delight to see when we visited him in 2005 in Sterling.  There are so many good memories to cherish. Know that he rests in peace and is happy with our beloved Aunt Helen.  God Bless you all.
