Mr. Lundvall moved to the Greeley area in 1933 when he was 13. At 16 he started working to help support his family. He lived in California and Denver while working for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. Elmer later purchased the Harsh Dairy farm in west Greeley. In 1949 he invented a milk cooler that he patented and later sold. He was active in farming and in the 1950’s Elmer and his brother Roy obtained the distributorship for Valley Sprinkler Systems. He sold hundreds of circular sprinklers in Colorado, Wyoming and the region. He and Roy personally developed many acres of dry-land into irrigated farms. Later, Elmer invented an irrigation system, built a factory in Greeley and later sold the company. Also during this time he and his brother expanded into the real estate business and developed Highland Hills subdivision and golf course, Arrowhead subdivision and Hill-n-Park. The Lundvall brothers started in the oil and gas business in the early 1980’s and Elmer continued to be involved until his death.
On November 24, 1967 he married Faye Henderson. They traveled extensively throughout the United States in their motor coach and enjoyed visiting countries around the world. For years they spent the winter in Arizona coming back to Greeley in the summer. His love of horses was evident in his involvement and ownership of cutting horses, trotters and buggies.
Mr. Lundvall is survived by his three children and spouses: Jerry and husband Larry Crouse, Jan and husband Bill Sullivan, Steve and wife Ingrid Lundvall. He also leaves many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and close family members.
