

Elsie Mae Wiedeman Schoenhaar passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2021 at Brookdale Skyline Hospice in Colorado Springs. She was born in Windsor, Colorado to William and Lydia (Felte) Wiedeman on April 11, 1930.
Elsie began her schooling at LaGrange school before the family moved to Greeley in 1936, where her father farmed the acreage at 23rd Avenue and 11th Street. Elsie completed her schooling in Greeley, graduating from Greeley High School in 1948. She attended the Colorado State College of Education for one year as a business major and then found employment as secretary/bookkeeper at the Gregory’s Men’s Store. She was employed there until 1960. On December 31, 1950, she married Eric Schoenhaar at the St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, now St. John’s United Church of Christ. In 1969, she, with her husband, Eric, became charter members of the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church in Greeley where she was actively involved in Bible studies, teaching Sunday School and other activities of the church. In addition to those activities, she enjoyed the associations and involved in the AMICO Club and Knife and Fork Club for years.
Survivors are her husband, Eric, her daughter, Cynthia Anne Forbeck, her husband, Patrick Forbeck, a granddaughter, Brianna Christine Forbeck all of Colorado Springs. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Shari and Sharon Wiedeman, along with 13 nephews and nieces and their families. Elsie is also survived by many other friends and family members.
Her parents, William and Lydia Wiedeman are deceased. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Edwin, Harry and Donald Wiedeman, along with sisters-in-law, Nancy Wiedeman and Annerose Vittetoe, brother-in-law, Craig Vittetoe and a nephew, Joshua Wiedeman.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Fellowship Church, Greeley. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
