

Ethel Elizabeth Edgar, age 98, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. Born on March 3, 1912 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She moved to Rocky Ford, Colorado with her parents, Frank and Bertha Boraker and her three brothers, Walter, George and Herman when she was 16 years old.
On January 28, 1934 she married Charles Thomas Edgar in Raton, New Mexico.
The young couple began their life together farming five miles south of Rocky Ford in the Arkansas Valley where they raised their six children. In 1952 they moved to Northern Colorado and farmed in the Greeley area.
Ethel was a long time member of the United Methodist Church and an active participant for many years. She celebrated her 90th birthday in Las Vegas with her family and later that same year, took a dream trip to the Netherlands with her youngest daughter Jacquie. She loved to sew, garden, read and write her family members. She was a loving, generous mother and grandmother who loved to have her family around her. Even in her 90's she did not think of herself as old.
Ethel is survived by her brother George Boraker, age 96, of Rocky Ford; two sons, Frank Edgar of Fort Collins; Glenn "Red" Edgar of Phoenix; and three daughters, Helen Lievre and Peggy Decker of California; and Jacquie Kaner of Seattle; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. A daughter Charlene Fisher, is deceased.
Funeral Services 10:00 a.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
