Everett "Greg" Hildenbrandt

Everett “Greg” Hildenbrandt, 67 of La Salle, passed away on September 24, 2019, after a short battle with cancer. Greg was born in Platteville on July 25, 1952 to Everett and Ruth Hildenbrandt, and moved to La Salle in June of 1969, graduating from Valley High School in 1970.

Greg took one semester of ROTC in college and joined the Army in 1971. After one and a half years, he was approved to be in Intelligence. He went to Fort Huachuca, AZ, for 7 months. He later took Japanese Language Defense in Monterey, CA, for one year. In September of 1974, he was deployed to the 500th MI Group, Tokyo, Japan, where he remained for 6 years. During his time in Japan Greg married his first wife Juanita. They began a family, having three children: Jason Adam, Athena Lee, and Crystal Rose. He departed Japan in 1980 and was reassigned to Fort Carson in 1981.

He divorced and went to REFORGER and married his second wife, René, in 1982. They had two more children: son Alexander Gregory, and daughter Stephanie. In 1988 he was redeployed to Germany as Senior Agent, Class 1st Sergeant. He returned to the states in 1992 for his final assignment to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Greg retired from the military in September 1993. He was employed by a major investigation company until 1996, and was employed by another investigation company from 1997 until 2002. In 2006 he moved back to La Salle to help care for his aging parents.

Greg is survived by his mother, Ruth Hildenbrandt; his 5 children; and his brother Richard Hildenbrandt.

Inurnment with Military Honors at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Longmont Cemetery. Memorial service 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 4, 2019 at the La Salle First Presbyterian Church followed by a catered reception.
