Dessie - you and your family are in my thoughts at this difficult and sad time.  I was sorry to read about the loss of your dad. French class at Greeley Central was a long time ago but I still remember the day I realized that Fonta's was your family.  Marsha Davis.

(Dessie, I was your 3rd grade teacher at Jackson School.  Perhaps you remember that you were the only student who beat me at a math timed test that entitled you to the prize which was terrarium.)

I worked for your father at the Fonta's Pizza palor in downtown Greeley when I was in high school.  Wow, what a character Fontas was; after I was able to get over the initial intimidation we got along famously. If you knew Fontas you knew about choir practice, you could always tell how practice went by how hard he would hit the curb in front of the store, what wonderful funny memories of your father I have.  Fontas will be sorely missed, my condolences to you his children and your families.

Dear Dessie, Gina and Steve,
Your father was a dear man and a welcomed part of our family gatherings. He was family! I will miss his smile and sense of humor.
Steve,Nick, Hannah and I will always hold a special place for him in our hearts.

I've known Fontas since I was 14 yrs. old. We as kids growing up had a wonderful time in his restraunt after many football and basketball games. He was always there to talk and to help us teens. He'll never be forgotten. Thanks for the memories.

I will miss Fonta.  I still see him sitting at the table near the register with a cigarette between his fingers advising us employees on how we could improve our job.  He will always remain in my mind a strong willed individual who knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted it done. The man would never let me clear his table of dirty dishes nor empty his ash tray of half smoked cigarettes.  They don't make people like him anymore.  He valued hard work, determination, and dedication. A man of principle, Fonta was. My  thoughts are with his family. He will surely be missed.

Thank you to the family of Mr. Fonta for sharing him with the Greeley community through Fonta's Pizza. Some of my best childhood memories are of Fonta's Pizza and him coming around talking with us at our table. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

My wife and I  had the good fortune of working for and knowing Fontas for six years. He truly was one of a kind. He had a big heart, great sense of humor, and kept the business like a family,... but you always knew who the boss was. We are deeply saddened to hear of Fontas passing, but we will always have awesome memories of Fontas. We will always be grateful to Fontas for the lessons he taught us, and know that we are better off for the character and wisdom he gave to us.

Fonta is a good man that I had the experience of knowing him and sharing his knowledge of his life and of the business of pizza for the last 22 years. For the last 8 my wife had came to know him and the three of us shared many laughs, a few arguments and mostly talked of family and grandkids. I and my wife will miss him, we will love you fonta forever.
