Gary was born on June 19, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to Jewel Watson, and adopted by Maurice McLaughlin. He moved to Colorado in 1981, and went to work at a paper warehouse. After retirement, Gary worked for the Shell Gas and Home Depot. He was very friendly, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved to sit outside and greet neighbors as they passed by his house.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Melissa Saurini (Jonathan Jones); sisters, Vicki Day and Charla Wright; grandchildren, Logan and Aliyah; former son-in-law, Lucas Saurini; nieces, Brandy, Courtney, and Angela; as well as several other nieces and nephews; and extended family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Cathy Sue McLaughlin; and nephew, Shawn Garrett.
