Just a note to let you know how much Mr. Durr meant to me.  Had it not been for him and Mrs. Switalski in third grade at Jefferson School, I would have never made it!  He was a blessing to me and my parents!  God bless you!  Sherry

George hired me as a teacher in the Riverton schools. I enjoyed working with him as a teacher and as a friend. A good person!

George hired me to teach in Riverton when we first moved back to Wyoming in 1983.  He was a wonderful administrator, and I enjoyed his sense of humor. My thoughts are with you Toni and Jim and your families.

My heart goes out to the Durr Family. Our family's go way back. My Father, Bill Smith and George were dear friends growing up and remain so to this day. Only now in the most special of places. When I was little my nickname was Windy, I was never to happy about it since that meant I talked to much. After all those years and growing up I learned it came from a very special person. I will now miss all the Christmas cards signed Windy. I fell as though I lost a Father figure in my life. One thing that he handed down was a caring and loving family of his own. Jimmy and I still see one another now and then, so I know that our family's will forever be connected. My faminly will never forget you George. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and the family, give all a hug from The Kincaid's.

George (Windy) as I knew him was like an Uncle to the Bill Smith family.  He will be missed...George, you and Dad are up there together now stirring up mischief as you did as kids.  Lots of love.... Christine (Bill Smith's oldest daughter)

Wow, where do I start.  George was huge part of my life.  There are way too many memories to list.  Here are just a couple that pop into my head.  He pulled everyone of my teeth. Not sure if that was good or bad.  HA HA!  Had one of my first sips of beer with him.  Was scared to death to get called to the principal's office but loved to visit him in his office on my terms.  To this day I won't let anyone call me Dairy Queen because George was the only one who could get away with that. He may be gone but his memories will live with me forever!  I Love You, George!

Keith & I socialized with George & Genee....they were a delightful couple and when Genee passed we were deeply saddened. So my deepest sympathy to the family.

The world has lost a good man,you have lost a good father and we have lost a good friend. We are all poorer for the loss

George was my 5th grade teacher in Riverton,WY. and a close friend of our family. He was a wonderful teacher who impacted many over the years.

George was my grade school principal and entered my life as family when his son married my sister. He has been in our family for over 30 years. George was light hearted and in good spirits all of the time. My last memory of him was in Lake Havesue Arizona in March 2007. I will always remember him as laughing and telling me that I have done a good job with my life and my education. He will be missed greatly!
