

Gloria Corinne Almquist Bell, 87, of Keenesburg, Colorado, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Keenesburg. She was born on February 17, 1928 in Scott City, Kansas to Gustaf Adoph and Olivia Albia (Anderson) Almquist.
Gloria lived in Manning, Kansas until the age of 6 then moved to Denver, Colorado. She attended West High School in Denver. She received her teaching degree from CSCE (now UNC). She taught 1st grade at Steck Elementary until she married Dayton Bell on March 27, 1951 and moved to Keenesburg where she taught 1st grade for 2 years at the Keenesburg Elementary School. She was in Home Demonstration for 50 years, taught Sunday School and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Keenesburg. She loved to sew and was extremely crafty. She loved going on the Senior Trips and enjoyed her time with friends, family and the Grandkids, and Great Grandkids.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Dayton G. Bell of Keenesburg; daughter, Debra (Mike) Howard of Keenesburg; sons, Bryce Bell of Keenesburg and Mark (Eve) Bell of Wilsonville, NE; grandchildren, Jeremy (Shelli) Quattlebaum of Dacono,CO, Darin Olson of Arvada, CO, Taylor (Tanna) Gerkin of Keenesburg, Rikki (AJ) Luce of Maxwell, NE; Ursula Knecht (Andre Skupin) of Munster, Germany and Samantha (Duell) Stanley of Ft. Lupton, CO; great-grandchildren, Kylie Jo and Addy Quattlebaum, Hunter and Brantley Olson, Clint Gerkin, McKenzie Luce, Niklas, Svenja & Weibke Skupin and Cade Stanley; cousins whom Gloria grew up with, Bill (Jan) Hector of Arvada and their children, Kim and Greg and Betty Sauer of Arvada and her children, Cindy and Patti and the many members of the Bell family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olivia and Gustaf Almquist.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 followed by funeral service at 10:30 a.m. both at Community United Methodist Church, 195 Main Street, Keenesburg. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
