Grace was a dear friend of my father,Ernie Young.  We had many wonderful conversations.  I didn't realize that she had died until my sister, Nancy Hoffman told me.  I have cards that Grace made and I will keep them and think of her often.  I thanked Grace for the wonderful friendship and love that she gave to my father and my family.

We were sad to learn of Grace's death through Susan and Jim Leutch, out former Poudre next-door neighbors.  We met Grace in June, 1998, when we purchased her wonderful log cabin from her.  Her nephew brought her to the cabin for a visit with us a few years later.  We just wanted the family to know how very much that cabin is still loved, as well as the river, mountains, brilliant stars, aspens, and everything about it!  Our 3 daughters and their famiies and friends are building their own wonderful memories -- heating up the old cookstove, sitting in front of the fireplace, hiking, fishing, listening to the river, watching the beautiful Colo. skies, and on and on and on.  We DO love that place, and get there as often as we can, driving 9-10 hrs. to get there.  We open it up in early April and close it in early Nov.  (John insulated the upper walls and ceiling, and covered them with knotty pine).  Please remember that the cabin you hold dear is lovingly cared for, by a large family,and shared with their friends!

Grace has always been a wonderful mentor for me.  She showed me how to live gracefully, grow old with purpose and how important is it to always have something to look forward to.
My children have such fond memories of helping Grace get her mountain cabin opened Memorial Day weekend and closed Labor Day weekend.  We all had many wonderful times together in that cabin.  We learned how to make toast on an old wood burning stove, build fires in the fire place and have our noses wrinkle from the smell of coal, and enjoy the delight on Grace's face when we would arrive at the cabin.
Grace always made everyone she met feel special.  She taught me alot about being a good hostess and to always use my good dishes! Every visit with Grace was a gift in itself.  I will miss her greatly and hope that I can use her examples to grow old Gracefully.

I knew Aunt Grace only through the loving family stories that were shared about her.  My son, Kendall Latham, grandson of I.E. Latham, is lucky enough to have a silver piece and a handmade wool Christmas stocking that have been handed down to him, both came from Aunt Grace. They will be treasured family heirlooms for generations to come.  Her life story demonstrates what a remarkable woman Aunt Grace was.  Kendall will help keep her memory alive as he shares the history of his treasured Aunt Grace heirlooms.

Aunt Grace will always be remembered for the many stories and family information that she passed on to us.  She was a great lady and we will miss her and cherish the memories we had with her.

Aunt Grace was a great source of information to me about my great grandmother and grandfather.  She was a delightful lady, wonderful storyteller and gracious and generous woman.  Her optomistic nature and upbeat personality will be missed.

I became acquainted with Grace and Brinkley about 30 years ago.  Because of her association with Soroptimist International of Fort  Collins and Brinkley's hearing problem, as well as her own in later years, I enjoyed regular visits with Grace.  She was, as her name connotes, a gracious lady, kind and benevolent in all respects.  Although her long life was visited with many challenges, Grace was an inspiring presence in the lives of her friends and family.  I will miss her, but always cherish her friendship and kind manner.
