Grace Quintana of Greeley died Monday, June 27, 2011 at her home. She was born on December 26, 1922 in Denver to Albert John and Aurora (Duran) Gomez.
Grace grew up in several communities in northern Colorado. She married Albert Quintana on September 23, 1950 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. After their marriage, they lived in Greeley in the same home for over 50 years. Albert died on March 30, 1995.
Grace was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She loved dancing, both English and Spanish styles. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was a person with a big heart and a strong faith in God. Above all, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister helping raise some of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Clara Sanchez of Greeley, Mary (B.T.) Zermeno (Gabriel) of Greeley, Annette Marquez of Greeley and Tracy Maltos (Richard) of Greeley; sons, Sam Quintana of Greeley, Albert Ray Quintina of Greeley and Tom Quintana (Magdalena) of Greeley; sisters, Lena Renteria of West Covina, California, Mary Cindy Madrid of Greeley and Irene Tellez of Greeley; brother, Valdemar Gomez (Antonia) of Evans; 23 grandchildren and great grandchildren, including special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Crystal Marquez, Sarah Marquez, Gracie Lou Marquez, Shawnae Maltos, Angelo Maltos and Nikita Maltos, and
3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, daughter Loretta Bernhardt, a grandson Dominic Bernhardt, 2 sons, Michael Quintana and Steve Gomez, 3 sisters, baby Martha, Martha Gullion, and Mercedes Martinez; 2 brothers, Gus Gomez and Joe Gomez.
Recitation of the Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
