It does feel like the end of an era to know of Jim's passing.  I have so many growing up memories that include both of your parents - and the ""Williams kids"" who were the greatest source of my babysitting money!  I will always remember Jim with great fondness.  Joanie, do you remember us praying for the Rams to win when we listened to games on the radio?!    I was so sorry to learn of your father's passing.  He truly was a great man with a very kind heart.  I always felt like ""one of the family"" when we'd all decend upon your home in junior high and high school. (well, even in grade school for that matter!)  He will be truly missed.  I hope you're doing all right.  Please know that David, Dillon, Kenzie and I are all keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.  Love to you ~  Kelly

Praying for Coach William's family:  
Having played for coach Williams in the late 50's and early 60's I can honestly say that he has had a profound influence on my life. There have not been many days that have passed since I left CSU that I have not in some way thought of coach Williams.  It was a real honor to have known him and played for him.  May the Lord comfort you all on your loss and bless you during this time.

Carol, I heard abour your dad on KOA radio when I woke up this morning and a wave of memories hit - ""Mr."" Williams, basketball in your driveway, games at Moby gym, the filming of the Robby Benson movie in Moby gym, long talks in your basement, ski weekends at Vail, etc.  Seems like yesterday in a way, but another lifetime ago in other ways.  My heart goes out to you.  I've been thinking about you all day.  Love, Pam

We extend our love, respect and gratitude to the Coach Jim Williams family.  Coach's love and patience through our learning and impatient years will forever be remembered.  He was certainly the inspiration in our lives.

I regret that I am out of town for a family reunion and unable to attned your father's funeral.  I have wonderful memories of Jim Williams from my seven years at Colorado State University.  He came to our practices often and was always so supportive of our program.  We loved our interaction with JJ and came to appreciate what a wonderful man he was.  
My deepest sympathies to all your family.  Carol, you and I'm sure others, are to be admired for your loving care of your father through the years.  It was always something I respected a great deal.  I walk by your parents gravesite several times a week, when I take a little break from my office.  Every time I smile and have warm memories.  Both were very special.

I CAME TO COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE SPRING OF 1970 ON THE FOOTBALL STAFF OF JERRY WAMPFLER AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY OF MEETING JJ.  WHAT A INTENSE AND PLEASANT INDIVIDUAL.  I HAVE ENJOYED KNOWING HIM, WATCHING HIS TEAMS, AND FOLLOWING HIS CARREER.  IT IS A SAD TIME FOR COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY TO LOSE SUCH AN ICON.  MY SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS GOES TO HIS FAMILY.

I Worked as a student athletic trainer at CSU in the late 80's and early 90's with the mens basketball team.  I will always remember Coach Williams.  He had a true passion for the game and for helping young men develop on and off of the court.  We had several conversations over the years and I will always cherish those times.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.  Coach Williams will be surely missed, but never forgotten.
