Jerry married the love of his life, Lottie D. Halski, on September 5, 1942 in Omaha. Although Jerry was not able to serve his country in the military due to a perforated ear drum, he was part of the CCC, Civilian Conservation Corp during which he helped plant and revitalize the forests of the United States.
Jerry worked several places before becoming an Omaha Policeman. He served on the force for thirty-six years until he retired in 1981. He could do anything from repairing a car to building a house and everything in between.
Jerry and Lottie moved to Greeley to live with their daughter and her husband in 1991 so they could enjoy their grandsons. After Lottie passed in 2001, Jerry spent time watching sports with family, enjoying rides through the Colorado Rocky Mountains, reading daily newspapers (Greeley Tribune, Denver Post, and Omaha World Herald), doing word search puzzles, going to the casinos, and following the activities of his grandchildren.
Jerry was a kind and loving man who everyone liked and respected.
