Jiryah was born at 5:47 p.m. on June 28, 2022 in Greeley, Colorado to Faith Vasquez and Julian Marquez. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. He had a mohawk from the very beginning. His hair would stick up no matter what. If Jiryah didn't have his mohawk, then it wasn't baby Jiryah. He was a happy baby and he loved to be held, if he wasn't being held he was so angry. Jiryah was so sweet and loved his pasi very much. He had big hands. Jiryah had his first bottle and loved his mommy's breast milk so much that he got chunky. He knew his name and would always put a smile on his face when he heard his mom or dad's voice. He had big ol' lips just like his mommy, and the personality and feet of his daddy.
Jiryah is survived by his mother, Faith Vasquez; father, Julian Marquez Jr.; godparents, Shauna and David Villarreal; aunts, Jayliana, Asha, Alexis, Savannah, Giselle, Demetrie, Alizay; uncles, Efraim, Devon, Josiah, Joshua, Jeremiah; grandparents, Margarita and Julian Marquez and Desiree Sanchez; great-grandparents, Robert and Terri Sanchez and Maria "Momo" and David "Popo" Villarreal; great-great-great-grandparents, Dora and Victor Padilla.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Efraim Fred Sepeda; great-great-grandparents, Ramona and Jose Munoz; great-great-grandma, Nancy Lujan and his cousin, Cassandra Ybarra.
A Recitation of the Rosary for Jiryah will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. With a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. Following the service, there will be a potluck at Farr Library 1939 61st Avenue, in the meeting room at 4:30 p.m.
