I took care of Joan in ICU and she touched my life in a profound way. She was an amazing woman and her love for God was so wonderful. I just see her sitting at the feel of Jesus and finaly being free of this earthly body. I'm a better person for having met her. May the Peace of God surround you all and grant you peace.

Joan will be missed by all who took the time to visit with her.  She was a woman who knew what she wanted and did everything in her power to acheive her goal. I enjoyed working with her because she made me think outside the box and her face glowed when she, for example, showed Bailey in her first showmanship class or when she learned how to lunge Bailey free style making him walk, trot, lope, stop and reverse by positioning her body. Our cats and dogs loved her gentle nature and all the petting they got.  But, I will always remember how she taught me and others that just because she was in a wheelchair she could still be a warm human being that deserved to be treated like one. Joan, I will not cry because you are gone but I will smile because you happened or at least I will try.  See you in heaven.

Our sympathies go out to Craig and the rest of Joan's family and friends during this sad time of loss. Please know our thoughts are with you. We know this is a hard time. Craig, you were a wonderful brother to Joan. You can be at peace with no regrets.
