I just found out about this.  Joel was a VERY GOOD friend of mine.  I miss you buddy.

I never expected to be without Joelsky, he was my best friend...I just hope he knows that!  I didn't even get to the funeral to say goodbye, because by the time I found out it was too late and it was over. I miss the person whom I believed could do ANYTHING! Joel has left too soon, and he has taken a piece of my heart with him.
I love him and always will!  And to his family I say thank you for bringing him to this earth, I am a better person having known him, and I send all of my love to you!!

I brought an old MP3 player of mine to work last week and Joel's song ""On a Mountaintop,"" came up on random shuffle.  It made me wonder about what he'd been up to and the fact that it had been so long since I had seen him online.  
Curiousity about his absence led me here and the bright blue eyes in the photo confirmed what I hoped was an incorrect assumption on my part.
I only knew Joel from online gaming, but he was pretty quick to share his love of his son and of music with everyone he came across.  He was always so proud of Caden.
I remember many late night games of Carball and laughing about him telling me of his modified rules for playing Scattergories. And the way he would cheat to help me win at Sea3d still brings a smile to my face.
Although I didn't know you face to face, you still are missed and remembered, Joel.

Wow- this blows me away... I can't really say there's any great memories, but I am terribly sorry for his families loss.

I'm sorry to the family for your loss.  I'm glad to hear that he was a loving father to one of his sons.  He'll never know what he missed out on with the other.  I believe that I truly got the best of him, and I thank him for that.

My heart stopped when I saw a white Toyota TRD go by on Sunday after my Baseball game. I looked at the words written all over it. I couldn't believe that my old friend/boyfriend had past away. I know how you all are feeling right now, but keep your head up. Just remember his eyes and of course his smile and all the memories you have of him! 
He always amazed me in everything he did. When we were teenagers, one thing that many of us will remember, is his memory on the game at Little Caesars, he would win free pizzas all the time! Also his pool skills were amazing; he taught me what I know now about pool. He could play any instrument you put in front of him.
I will always miss the young ol' days. There are so many memories and I will never forget them.
  I had lost contact with him, but recently I had run in to him at Wal-Mart and I had realized once again how he made people feel, and how his smile made your smile lighten up.  
I want to let you; Jan, Jesse, and Johnnie, know I have my heart out to you, I miss you all. I never got the chance to meet you;
April or Caden but my heart will always be with you as well.

Joel will forever hold a peice of my heart. Despite family challenges he always made sure to keep in touch and for that I am forever grateful. We all loved him. Joel was a blessing to us all. He is the only person I know of that you could be upset with and would still make you smile and talk you into what he wanted at the same time. It was that ""Rebel"" charm he had that made you stop and think ""Wow! How did he do that?"" Only Joel. I have to believe that he is in heaven keeping them all on their toes. Joel will always be in my heart as you all are each and every day.

Joel was a person that to know him was to love him. Joel was just like a part of the family, he really loved being a part of the family and he was a joy to have around. He will be truely and deeply be missed by all. We know that he is in good hands with our lord in heaven. My husband and I were good friends with him and my husband lost his brother and a year and a half ago, and we found that in this time of grieving you have to tread through hell to get to heaven. Our hearts go out to the loved one's of Joel. Your lives will never be the same after that horrable day but some how, some way, down the road it get's easyer not better but to were you can make it through the day.

Joel was just such a spirit and won't soon be forgotten. I am sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joel's family especially his wife and young son. I lost touch with Joel but always hoped in my heart that he was doing well. It looks like he certainly was. I rememeber meeting Joel at the roller skating rink many years ago he was always smiling. I know that he will be missed greatly by many. May the sun always shine upon your faces even when they sky is grey.

I lived in Berthoud Estates, a couple blocks away from Joel.  We shared some good times in our years growing up.  I haven't seen him in years, but his memory will always be with me. Rest in peace, my friend.

I met Joel when he moved to Berthoud. We both were teenagers in a small town that shared the same group of friends.Joel was such a free spirit, and was always up for life adventures and having a good time. As we grew older, we lost contact, nine years had gone buy and our paths finally crossed again a few weeks ago at Berthoud days. I am fourtunate that i was able to see him one last time. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Joel, but my husband and I found him and his car as we were walking to Starbucks on Saturday morning.  We went down to the car and called out to see if he needed help but no one answered.  He had already been taken by the Lord. We are truly sorry for your loss.
