John quit school at 12 years of age to help his mother. He was Golden Glove Champ from 1947-1949. He married his beautiful wife Minnie Sanchez of Weston, Colo., March 8, 1957.
John got his GED at the age of 46. He worked several jobs including Human Resources and Colorado Migrant Counsel. John was very well known in the community and helped many people who were less fortunate. John had a humorous personality. He was the glue that held his family together. His eight children absolutely cherished him and surrounded him with love and support, up to his last moment. Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
John is survived by his wife, Minnie Garcia; six daughters, Debbie Garcia (John Hernandez), Anna Garcia (Nacho Vasquez), Sharon (Ernie) Garcia, Karen Garcia (Ron Gollardo), Roxanne (Samuel) Lopez, Barbara Garcia; two sons, John (Terri) Garcia, Russell Garcia; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
