Kelly Harold Cocroft

He married Donna Simmons. They shared three children and later divorced. Kelly lived in many states until he met his eternal partner Nellie Carol Thornton (Griffith) and her three daughters. They were married and sealed on December 28,1977 in the Mesa Arizona temple.

They built their life in Colorado, where they raised their six children. Kelly is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served in four full time missions with Nellie Carol. Kelly fulfilled many callings in the church including serving as Bishop. He shared his love of camping with his family and creating cherished memories. Among his many accomplishments he was able to work through college and became a registered mechanical engineer and registered aeronautical engineer. He designed an aerial tram system with three patents, worked on the Gemini capsule and was contracted as a test engineer to work with NASA on the Apollo program along with other designing projects in civil design.

On July 13, 2023 Kelly was reunited with Nellie Carol Cocroft, his parents Robert and Lillian Cocroft, his brother John Cocroft, one granddaughter Sidney Weber and his beloved dog Skeeter. He is survived by his brothers Charlie and Wallace Cocroft, sisters Margret Goodacre, and Janet Hanson (Mark Hanson), five daughters Downy Petersen, Heather Rex (Keith Rex), Christine Martin (Steve Martin), Kathryn Cocroft, and Cassie Weber (Jeffrey Weber), his son Donald Cocroft(Karrie Cocroft). His grandchildren Alissa Pynes (Alan Pynes), Kelsey Hall (Jedidiah Hall) Hannah Petersen (Garrett Gohlson), Tessa Petersen, Allison Weber (Colby Adams), Max Weber, Rylee Martin, Ashley Martin, Gavin Rex, Kaelyn Cocroft (Brendon Warcroft), Andrew Cocroft, Dylan Peterson (Madysan Peterson), Charla Cocroft, Presley Cocroft and his great grandchildren Evelyn Pynes, Rebecca Pynes, Poppy Hall, Olivia Petersen, and Emmerson Peterson.

A celebration of life gathering for Kelly will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Summer Park Club House, 6901 W. 3rd St., Greeley, CO 80634.
